The RNG heavy fireballs can really torpedo a run, especially in the second section. Thankfully they all behaved and I ended up with a Personal Best here. Metroid With the exception of going short with the first jump, I finally completed a run of this without mistakes for another Personal Best. Super Mario 2 My second most common reset point was the bomb section in this challenge. I just cannot seem to get the timing right. Thankfully I recovered well enough. The Birdo fight was slow, but no misses. Balloon Fight I overshot the first section, but recovered nicely. The second section was ugly, but quick enough. The third section was nearly perfect, though. Zelda 1 I could not stop running into Stalfos. Thankfully the gels cooperated for once and I had an exceptionally lucky boss fight. Ice Climber The mountain section was pretty slow and I had a lot of trouble making the last jump in the bonus area. Notice the strategic rewind to save the run. The condor, like all birds, was a jerk. Super Mario 3 An embarrassingly bad 1-1. An acceptable 1-2. An okay-at-best fortress. I missed the first jump in 1-5. A terrible 1-6, though at least I got the drop. Good airship. This was my worst Mario 3 in a long time. Excitebike I'm very inconsistent with this game. The first lap was pretty solid. The second lap got off on the wrong foot and stayed that way. It was enough to carry me through, though. Kirby's Adventure Missing the door in both of the first two rooms did not help anything. I wish the squids in the coconut area were more reliable in their jumping. I finished strongly enough. Kid Icarus My health management was solid, so I didn't have to spend all day in the spa. My sloppy jumps in the spike rooms cost me a bit, but thankfully the boss cooperated. Lost Levels In a previous run I missed the trampoline several times ultimately costing me the S overall. I'm happy that it is only one this time. The turtle jump goes well (patience), the cloud jump is a mess, but a comparatively good time nonetheless. Zelda II This was a Personal Best at the time. Despite the slow Guma fight, everything else went very well, especially the boss. Super Mario 1 This was a huge Personal Best, by like 20 seconds! 1-1: good pipes, mediocre stairs 1-2: not much to complain about, a little sloppy at the start, but well run 4-1: bad stairs, but a great run otherwise 4-2: decent vine, I am very inconsistent there, okay stairs 8-1: a couple minor mistakes early, very good piranha death pipes, very decent sairs 8-2: great start!, slow but not bad bullet section, great recovery at the small stairs, decent finish 8-3: insanely good (bonk not withstanding), I had to calm myself down on the stairs 8-4: missed the lava jump, good high pipe, bad swim but par for the course, lucky to get past the last jump second try and a perfect Bowser for the win
