A new look Hackney Wick London Overground station was officially unveiled today by Sir Peter Hendy CBE, Chair of Network Rail and London Legacy Development Corporation, delivering major improvements for Londoners and businesses in the surrounding area. Funders LLDC and the London borough councils of Hackney and Tower Hamlets attended. Commemorative speeches were given by both Mayors, Phillip Glanville and John Biggs along with TfL’s director of Rail, Jon Fox and finally Sir Peter Hendy who unveiled the plaque. Passengers at Hackney Wick can now get to their trains more quickly and more easily than before with the new subway, lifts and overall improved access to the station. Network Rail have successfully delivered a £25 million redevelopment of Hackney Wick station on behalf of LLDC, transforming the station and delivering major improvements for Londoners and businesses in the surrounding area.
