For 2025, Toyota didn't just add an automatic - they also increased torque to 295 lb-ft (up from 273), retuned the suspension for better cornering stability, and improved cooling. I test the GR Corolla in various driving scenarios to see if these changes make a meaningful difference and whether the automatic transmission enhances or detracts from the driving experience. The 2025 GR Corolla remains powered by the remarkable G16E-GTS 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 300 horsepower.
