HGSE is committed to building up education as a profession. To support powerful and equitable learning opportunities in diverse contexts, HGSE Masters students will take four foundational courses in their year at Harvard. The four foundational courses are "How People Learn," "Evidence," "Equity and Opportunity," and "Leading Change" and will equip students with the knowledge and tools they will need to create powerful learning experiences, analyze data, address inequity, and collaborate with others to affect change. The faculty co-leads of those courses, Matt Miller, James Kim, Aaliyah el-Amin, and Monica Higgins, explore the big questions in education each course will tackle as well as how Masters students can expect to use that knowledge in their field after graduation. -- Harvard Graduate School of Education Website: http://www.gse.harvard.edu Follow us on Instagram: / harvardeducation Like us on Facebook: / harvardeducation Follow us on Twitter: / hgse Since its founding in 1920, the Harvard Graduate School of Education has been training leaders to transform education in the United States and around the globe. Today, our faculty, students, and alumni are studying and solving the most critical challenges facing education: student assessment, the achievement gap, urban education, and teacher shortages, to name just a few. Our work is shaping how people teach, learn, and lead in schools and colleges as well as in after-school programs, high-tech companies, and international organizations. The HGSE community is pushing the frontiers of education, and the effects of our entrepreneurship are improving the world.
