Hop-tu-naa: Purt le Moirrey 2017

A Manx Gaelic film about hop-tu-naa. Hop-tu-naa is the oldest continuously-existing tradition in the Isle of Man, and today it forms a key part of the Winter traditions for Manx people each year. Celebrated on the 31st of October, Hop-tu-naa is celebrated by people going around the community with carved turnip lanterns and singing one of the traditional hop-tu-naa songs on people's doorsteps. This film is an attempt to document something of the tradition and how it fits into the lives of people on the Isle of Man today.
