Remixed back in late 2018, just shortly after Trump met with Kim Jong Un and there was some talk about Trump having Kim at the White House (glad it didn't happen in retrospect, however.). I'm wondering if this remix was made for the US because, despite hearing that people in the clubs have danced to this song, I am inclined to think that, that is just propaganda. Perhaps it's true but as time has gone by, I've come to doubt it. At any rate, things were appearing to be thawing between the DPRK and US with Trump and Kim having gone from threatening each other with nukes to .... uh... if you let Trump tell it... "falling in love". I won't. Perhaps a nod to the US from the leader of the People's Korea in hope that things would work out, perhaps some remixes geared for US enjoyment would make some in roads. After all, Dennis Rodman was trying to - and I think he did a pretty good job of it, until Trump put that stupid travel ban in place. Perhaps he did it in order to stop Rodman from trying to create good relations because he wanted to be able to say HE did it. After all, he told the Republicans to VOTE down a border reform bill that they and the Democrats agreed on, because he wanted to run on it. All that aside, this remix shows more creativity than the textbook "Jellybean" mix, which was predictable because all of his remixes were sounding the same back then: Start with just the beats, build up to main part, break down at the bridge (or past it in some cases), build up that do a strip-down toward the end, build up than finish. Kimmy's mix kinda reminds me of what Arthur Baker may have done and with the editing expertise of the Wild Rascals, creating some rapid-fire rhythmic edits. That takes me back to what the Latin Rascals did on many mixes by Arthur Baker, mainly, but there were also others the duo worked with. I wonder if the Wild Rascals based their name from the New York duo. The editing is rather similar. #music #remix #madonna
