Casa Méndez    • CASA MÉNDEZ VILLA ROSALÍA (LIBRILLA) - MUR...   - in Spanish. The house Méndez, also known as Villa Rosalía is a mansion located in Librilla, Murcia, Spain, in the access to the town from the Autovía del Mediterráneo. Built at the beginning of the 20th century by Andrés Méndez, it has been and still is a representative building of the town, due to its beauty and local legends about ghosts, despite which it is currently in a state of neglect. The construction was carried out in the early twentieth century, specifically in the twenties, when the architecture is experimented with new designs, mixing old and modern styles, local typologies with the use of new materials. Its construction was promoted by Mr. Andrés Méndez, who left it as an inheritance to his six children. One of the heirs was José, known painter and drawing teacher. José Méndez tried, over the years, to address the rehabilitation of this unique project and even painted some murals in the rooms of the house; in fact it was proposed to make the mansion house a museum.
