SUBSCRIBE: http://bit.ly/lifeofluke Silver City, Idaho is packed with history. This mining town in the mountains was founded in the 1860's with the boom and bust of valuable gold and silver mines. The peak population reached approximately 2500 people before almost dropping to zero after WWII. It never truly was abandoned and I use the term 'ghost town' loosely here, because although it felt like a ghost town when we visited, there are some year-round residents. All buildings are privately owned and today the hotel is open in the summer to serve tourists who wander up into the hills. Join us as we step back in time at Silver City. Thanks for watching!
