In the final episode of Extreme Fishing, Robson Green takes on a 4,000-mile odyssey across Spain, Portugal, and the Atlantic islands, chasing some of the toughest and most extraordinary fish in European waters. From battling 500-pound marlin in the Azores to rock fishing in the Canary Islands and hauling monster catfish from Spain’s mighty River Ebro, this is Robson’s grand finale — and it’s packed with drama, danger, and pure fishing joy. Robson’s adventure begins in the Azores, a remote volcanic archipelago in the middle of the North Atlantic. Teaming up with South African skipper Captain Ian Carter, he braves storms and rough seas in pursuit of the legendary Atlantic blue marlin — the “holy grail” of big-game fishing. After a nerve-wracking first day lost to bad weather, the ocean finally rewards his patience: a screaming reel, a brutal battle, and a triumphant catch — a 500-pound blue marlin, caught and released after a heart-stopping fight. It’s the ultimate prize, the perfect storm of strength, skill, and awe. From the mid-Atlantic, Robson heads south to the Canary Islands, where his fishing takes a stranger — and more dangerous — turn. Here, he samples local seafood with a deadly twist, trying the controversial escolar, a poisonous deep-sea fish that must be expertly prepared to be safe. Surviving that culinary gamble, he joins world-class free-diver Willy Santo to learn how Canarian fishermen collect their bait by hand — diving 20 metres on a single breath to harvest snails from the seabed. Despite nerves (and near exhaustion), Robson manages to collect his own bait before tackling one of the islands’ oldest fishing traditions: rock fishing with 20-foot bamboo poles on wave-swept volcanic cliffs. It’s slippery, treacherous, and hilarious — but with help from locals Yanni and Royer, Robson finally lands his first parrot fish and enjoys what he calls “the best fish I’ve ever tasted.” For the final leg of his journey, Robson travels to mainland Spain, to the mighty River Ebro — home to some of the world’s largest freshwater fish. Guided by Colin Bun, a British angler who moved to Spain for its catfish, Robson experiences the most prolific fishing of his life. Within minutes, he hooks into the famous Wels catfish, battling giants that shake rods, strip line, and test his endurance to breaking point. As the day goes on, the catches keep coming — 20, 30, 70, even 90-pound catfish, one after another — until Robson’s arms can barely lift the rod. By the end of the day, he’s landed over 400 pounds of fish, including his personal best: a 90-pound river monster, six feet long and utterly magnificent. From the blue marlin of the Atlantic to the catfish of the Ebro, Robson’s final adventure is the perfect summary of the series — a celebration of global fishing culture, extraordinary characters, and the unbreakable bond between humans and the sea. “Where there’s water, there’s fish,” Robson concludes — and after this epic journey, he’s proved there’s adventure in every drop. 👉 Subscribe to Forever Fishing for more global angling adventures from Robson Green’s Extreme Fishing — exploring the wildest waters and most extraordinary catches on Earth. #ExtremeFishing #RobsonGreen #SpainFishing #PortugalFishing #Azores #CanaryIslands #EbroRiver #BlueMarlin #WelsCatfish #ParrotFish #AdventureFishing #TravelDocumentary #BigGameFishing #ForeverFishing
