There are thousands of asteroids in our solar system that orbit very close to Earth. Scientists call these objects NEOs. In particular, in 2004, a large asteroid called Apophis came so close to Earth that it could pose a threat, causing great alarm among mankind. In 2004, astronomers found that there was a 2.7% chance that the asteroid Apophis would collide with Earth in 2029. And since this asteroid is 370 meters in size and would have the power of a nuclear weapon if it collided with Earth, it immediately attracted attention from the scientific community as well as the media. The problem was that this huge asteroid Apophis was predicted to be as close as 31,600 kilometers to Earth on April 13, 2029. However, fortunately, after NASA's detailed analysis in 2021, there is no possibility of a collision in 2029 or 2036, but as a result of NASA tracking the movement of Apophis with a radio telescope, it is predicted that it will narrowly miss the Earth. Today's discovery of the universe looks at the Apophis asteroid, once considered the most dangerous asteroid, and why the Osiris probe was sent to investigate it.
