For more information on this vehicle visit http://tinyurl.com/6nk8atu As the latest in a series of pristine third generation Camaros we've featured over the past three weeks, this all-business black, 902 mile (no, I didn't leave any digits out, the car actually has less than 1K miles!) 1986 IROC-Z is a fully documented survivor which features a stout small block V8 and a highly desirable 5-speed transmission. Assembled in Van Nuys, California and delivered to Van Chevrolet in Shawnee Mission, Kansas this pristine 1986 Camaro IROC-Z is possibly the nicest third generation F-body survivor we've ever featured. It's original GM code 41 Black basecoat/clearcoat paint looks factory fresh in every way and is an excellent example of just how surprisingly good GMs assembly techniques were during their darkest hours of reliability. Naturally, since the car has been stored indoors all its life, rarely driven, and likely has not seen any rain at all, its bodywork presents as new in every way. The all original body panels display factory correct fit and finish, and the cars infamous 'mile long' doors are rattle-free and close with ease. In 1986, Chevrolet gave its buyers a myriad of choices when it came to F-body powertrains. The LG4 305 found in this IROC-Z churned out a very impressive 240 lb./ft. of torque which provided snappy acceleration and helped establish the Camaro as the undisputed king of the pony cars. Everyone who was alive during the 80s knows what a reliable powerhouse GMs 305 was, and anyone who is a car guy now knows that the sky is the limit with the massive, relatively affordable aftermarket support these engines enjoy. Wearing just over 900 original miles, this cars pristine small block is completely unmodified and everything remains in factory-original condition with all the original markings, decals, and tags still everywhere they should be. Judging by how clean the engine bay is, it's highly unlikely that this car has ever seen a drop of rain, and there's no sign of corrosion on any of the metal parts, the plastic components aren't brittle from heat soaking, and the wiring is as-new. The bottom of this evil looking IROC-Z, is a well-preserved time capsule which appears to be original all the way down to its four 245/50 Goodyear Eagle VR50s tires and stylized 16 inch aluminum wheels. The cars chassis and floors are in exceptional condition thanks to original undercoating and, of course, very limited street time. And all the factory bits and pieces for the optional Macpherson strut and three link special sports suspension are still exactly where the factory left them. Behind the small block engine, an original Borg Warner T10 5-speed manual transmission sends power to an original 10 bolt Posi-traction rear end with excellent 3.23 street gears. Behind the wheels, optional power four wheel disc brakes provide quick and precise stops. And it's highly likely that, since this Camaro has been driven less than 1,000 miles, it still wears an original clutch and original factory pads and rotors. In excellent condition throughout, this cool IROCs all original gray interior presents no staining or fading and looks just as good as when the car rolled out of its Kansas showroom. Like the exterior and engine bay, everything is in 100% OEM condition and the gray power front and fixed rear bucket seats look good and feel great. Above the seats, an original gray headliner is stretched tight across the cars roof; and at the sides of the seats, horizontally stitched vinyl door panels hold warp-free arm above manual window cranks. At the center of the interior, a pristine console holds buttons for the cars climate control and Delco audio systems just in front of a simple black 5-speed shifter. And in front of the driver, a super straight dash hangs a mandatory "Z28 IROC-Z" emblem beside crystal clear gauges and a pristine three spoke factory steering wheel. Highly optioned and packing a potent V8, 5-speed drivetrain combination, this 1986 Camaro IROC-Z has all the right ingredients to become a hot future collectible.
