CORRECTION: D'oh! This is a V engine - NOT an Inline as I say at 0:22 in the video. Not sure why I made such an obvious mistake! In this Dyno Tune session of a 2023 Tundra, we found that Toyota's new i-Force 3.4L Twin Turbo engine has impressive potential, though it starts out somewhat sluggish. Throttle response was muted at low speeds, and the initial dyno runs reflected a lack of enthusiasm in output. Our team completely remapped the fuel and turbo response, bringing torque up to over 550 lb-ft in the lower RPM range and adding more than 60 horsepower. One challenge we encountered was the Toyota transmission, which persistently upshifted, interrupting our dyno passes and the tuning process. Despite this, we fine-tuned the setup to keep shifts under control and deliver a smooth power curve. Wally dialled in the fueling, optimized the shifting, and shaped the boost curve for an instantly noticeable increase in power. On the test drive, the customer felt the difference immediately. This Toyota is a proud example of the i-Force generation and is set to be a highlight in the next line of full-size Tundra trucks. We're thrilled to have tuned out the "boring" stock boost curve, giving this truck the punch it deserves. 0:00 introduction 0:45 baseline tests 1:10 baseline results 2:35 tuning 7:24 conclusion
