The A180 stands for this profile with an aluminum holder and a nylon brush. The GLD stands for gold as you can see. It is available in clear anodized aluminum finish along with the dark bronze. The 08 is a reference to the length of the bristle which for this unit is 7/8" and there is an image below this video which shows everything important dimensionally about the item. Lets go over that now. You can see that you are about 5/8" on the overall height of the extrusion .658". Then you've got that 3/4" length of the bristle. Forgive me if I had said 7/8" before, it is certainly 3/4". I don't recall if I had said 7/8" or 3/4". This is 3/4" bristle. So about an 1-7/16" overall length or right in that range. Where people are going to use this sweep is in a lot of applications. The length of the bristle is extremely common being relatively short. Not the shortest one, but this would be the second if you had four or five lengths of bristles, this would be #2 from shortest to longest. Very common with 3/4" bristle length because that is going to allow you to dovetail your sweep selection with a common undercut. You are going to have 5/8" undercut on doors whether it being the exterior entry doors to a retail space. You can have a clothing store that has a pair of decorative style and wood doors with nice architecturally manufactured hardware. It could all be in a polished brass finish or a gold anodized sweep would complement that very well. Residential applications are certainly and what tips me off that this might be residential is the color, but it would be appropriate for the front door of a home to if you have brass hardware on your door. Nothing excludes this from being used if it suits your purpose and your color scheme, your undercut, and your application, it is excellent. This is available not only in the different anodized finishes of aluminum, but several different lengths on the website as well. If you have need for a custom length, by all means let us know by ordering the next piece or pieces and simply indicate in the comment field what length you want us to cut the material back to. The reasoning is if you need to cut this 36" piece back to say 30", you would eliminate that slotted hole and the next one is all the way over here. So if you order a custom length, we will not only place that slotted hole at the proper distance from the edge, but the proper center to center as well. That slotted hole is handy to have there because it will allow you to get this tailored to the bottom of your door to compensate for a sill that may not be level or a door that may not be plumb. It also helps compensate for a miss drilled hole. When you are pre-drilling the hole for the screw, and speaking of screws, TEK screws are primarily the standard as provided from Sealeze. Unless there is some override of the standard, you are going to get self-drilling screws; there will be TEK screws with the drill point on it. I personally do not like those because I have less control over where I am putting my screw in. When you are pre-drilling holes, the way that I prefer to do it, the drill bit might have a tendency to walk a little bit if you have not used a center punch whether you are drilling into steel, wood, aluminum or fiberglass. So it will help compensate for a miss drilled hole as well. Sealeze as a manufacturer is to be thought of as being synonymous with bristle.
