In this video you will learn all the science for this topic to get a grade 9 or A* in your science exams! In the kidney blood enters the bowman’s capsule via a network of capillaries called the glomerulus. Smaller molecules like urea, glucose and water are filtered out of the blood and into the Bowman’s capsule of the nephron. Larger molecules such as red blood cells and proteins remain in the blood in the glomerulus. water, urea & glucose enter the 1st convoluted tubule where selective reabsorption occurs. In the 1st convoluted tubule, glucose is selectively reabsorbed by active transport. The filtrate now enters the loop of Henle, where water is reabsorbed into the blood. Not all the water is reabsorbed in the Loop of Henle, and the remaining urea and water now enters the collecting duct. Excess water leaves collecting duct as urine into the ureter, which transports it to the bladder, where urine is stored All content, music, images, worksheets are the property of kayscience.com
