"Shimmer" (Extreme Demon) by Mercury6779 | Geometry Dash 2.2

Warning: This video contains rapidly flashing lights which may not be suitable for all audiences. I've uploaded some works by Mercury6779 in the past, but all of those were collaborations, while this is their first solo Extreme Demon. They have made some really cool stuff before, so I was definitely interested in this when they showed it to me. What caught my eye first is definitely the colors. It uses a lot of red, but it's mixed with other colors like blue, green, or yellow. These are some really unique color combinations that I've rarely seen before. It does get quite intense in color pulses at the drop, which could lead to some people not playing this for that reason; I know I found it pretty tough to just watch once, and I'm not typically affected by flashing lights. In "Hyperchaos" by Mercury6779, I really liked the detail in the block designs, but this one is much more simple in that regard. Instead, it focuses on the aforementioned colors, as well as some art in the background. I think these choices work pretty well, making for a unique level visually. My only nitpick is that several parts are disconnected for seemingly no reason, such as at 0:21 and 0:32. Making these parts flow naturally from one to the other without using toggles would've made it smoother to watch and play. All in all, it's cool to see a solo level by Mercury6779, especially given how unique its visuals are. As for the gameplay, this is gonna be an easier Extreme Demon, so if you don't mind the pulses, it could be worth trying out.
