The College of Arts and Humanities was delighted to welcome award-winning novelist and literary scholar Professor Sarah Moss to deliver the 2019 UCD Arts and Humanities Annual Lecture at the Museum of Literature Ireland (MoLI), titled: "Feet in Ancient Time: Reflecting on Literary Inheritance in the Age of Brexit". In her lecture, Sarah explored the personal, creative and national challenges around the idea of literary and poetic inheritance. She also addressed important questions about her own writing identity in the face of the shifting nature of Englishness and Britishness in the Brexit era. The Annual Lecture is an annual showcase event for UCD Arts and Humanities that celebrates the excellence, relevance, and vibrancy of the subjects represented in the College. This year we were pleased to partner with the School of English, Drama and Film to mark developments the School has made in the area of Creative Writing. This event was hosted by the UCD School of English, Drama and Film and the UCD College of Arts and Humanities, in partnership with the recently opened Museum of Literature Ireland (MoLI). Professor John Brannigan, Head of the UCD School of English, Drama and Film introduces Sarah with an exciting announcement.
