It landed by the Citadel on a nearby parapet and made haste to ensure that it had no audience. ii - Then, in the foggy hours of dawn, it twisted and contorted. Its shrieks changed into subtle, hysterical laughter, and its form changed into that of a man. iii - And thus, altered, he laid in the cold, shivering and cackling, maddened by his altered state. iv - Eventually the man came to understand his new form and rose to his frostbitten feet. He proceeded to the gates of the Citadel in hope of some shelter. v - Shivering uncontrollably, he fell down at the gates, naked and exposed to the elements. It was there he lost his consciousness and drifted off into the white abyss of Winter’s Heart. vi - It might’ve been days, but eventually the man did awaken. He found himself in a bed of straw, a dark figure looming over him. vii - The figure removed his hood and exposed a face so inhuman that it would’ve struck fear into the most valiant of souls. His captor was not of this mortal world. viii - He went to speak, but found that his mouth would not move. A strange painting had been drawn in blood on the wall. ix - The figure grinned a maddening grin and threw his twisted head back with horrible laughter.
