Dreampi is a software and hardware solution that allows you to connect the Dreamcast to the Internet by simulating a telephone line via a Raspberry Pi and a compatible USB modem. Required equipment: A Dreamcast with its integrated modem (56K for Japanese and US DCs, or 33.6K for the EU). A Raspberry Pi [model 2 (RJ45), 3 (RJ45 and Wifi), Zero W (Wifi) or Zero 2 W (wifi), for example]. I chose a Pi Zero W. A compatible USB modem: Compatible modems but not found: Dell NW147 (Conexant chipset), Lenovo RD02-D400, Zoom 3095, TrendNet TFM-561U, Longshine LCS-8156C1, (US Robotics USR5637). Compatible modems and found: Startech USB56KEMH2, Generic modem FUO7. A Line Voltage Inducer    • Making a Line Voltage Inducer for Dre...   A microSD card (minimum 8 GB) for the Raspberry Pi. Different cables and/or adapters (it doesn't matter whether it's USB-A, USB-C or micro USB as long as it's USB) depending on the type of connectors you choose. Among the cables, you need a Y-shaped one that will power both the modem and the LVI from the Raspberry. A power supply (a mobile charger will do the trick, but make sure it displays at least 2A) A RJ11 telephone cable that you can tinker with to connect the modem to the Dreamcast's telephone port or two RJ11 telephone cables that can be attached to a box like I did if you want something cleaner. See the topic on building an LVI. Note that the Dreamcast was sold with an RJ11 cable and the modem you will buy is also sold with an RJ11 cable. It's up to you whether you want to use them or if you prefer to buy them... Obviously an Internet connection via Ethernet or Wi-Fi for the Raspberry Pi. 1. Prepare the Dreampi Download the latest version of Dreampi for your Raspberry on DreamcastLive.net and unzip it, you get the Dreampi image Download the utility to install the OS of your Raspberry (https://www.raspberrypi.com/software/) Open the utility Choose your Raspberry model Choose the OS click on "Use custom" Select the Dreampi image Insert your micro SD card Choose the location where your microSD card is stored then click next Click on modify settings Just configure your wifi (your box username and password) Click "Yes" to save the settings 2. Connect the hardware (Diagram of the assembly with the LVI dissected) (Photo of the assembly with the LVI open) Check that the mobile charger is powering the PWR IN port of the Raspberry and that the Y cable is properly connected to the USB port of the Raspberry (Photo of the assembly with the LVI assembled in the case) Once the assembly is connected, plug the charger into the power outlet After 1 min 30 (depending on your Raspberry model) the modem LEDs light up, indicating that everything is ok Turn on the Dreamcast 3. Configure the Dreamcast Launch the Internet browser of the Dreamcast: Use the DreamKey 3.0 or PlanetWeb 2.6 internet browser. (DreamKey 3.0 was included with the PSO v2 game in PAL version) Configure the connection parameters: Go to Modem Configuration Dial: Tone Output Prefix: No AT Config: All Disabled Then go to Configuration Configure like this: Account: ***** Password: ********* TEL.
