"THE SUDDEN ELIMINATION CHALLENGE" -- With most of our high average bowlers away for the weekend bowling in South Carolina at a tournament, we get six first-timers on PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR this week, including one from our Junior Varsity league. We could just as easily title this episode, "While the Cats Are Away, the Mice Will Play." This is might just be the most fun episode of PRODIGY we've had to date, as ten of our kids, many of whom would be easily overmatched if bowling against our best players, thrived in this unique format that anybody could win. It's a fascinating, single-ball elimination format, with one player dropping from the field after each round. When the field is narrowed down to the final two players, they square off in a one-game match, with the lower average player receiving handicap pins equal to the difference in their two' averages I promise, you will find this episode of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR a lot of fun. Coach Randy Brown, USBC Silver Certified Coach and former PBA member on play-by-play. As always, comments are welcome. But as is always the case, I ask, especially with this episode, that you keep your comments positive, or at least keep your critiques constructive and helpful. Many of the kids on this week's show are not tournament-tested bowlers, and a few are even what you could describe as strictlhy "recreational" bowlers, not in it so much for the competition. But they're here to have fun, learn a little about the game, and on this day, were willing to put themselves on the spot to test their games in what, for them, was a pressure situation. Several of them came up to me during the taping of the show and admitted that their heart was pounding hard when they had to get up and throw a shot. This is what it's all about. Simulating the pressure of tournament competition in an open play environment. In my book, all ten of these kids are winners. Enjoy.
