Join me for a calm sunrise walk through the small Cotswold village of Foxcote in Gloucestershire. Filmed as the first light of the day spreads across the fields, this walk captures the quiet beauty of the countryside at sunrise, soft light, open views and the stillness that lingers in the early hours. There’s no talking or music, just natural sounds, birds beginning their morning calls, light movement in the landscape, and the gentle atmosphere of a new day starting. Foxcote is a small and quiet village in Gloucestershire, set within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Surrounded by open farmland and rolling hills, it sits close to the Oxfordshire border and remains largely unchanged by modern development. The village has early origins, with its name believed to come from Old English meaning “fox cottage” or a dwelling associated with foxes. Like many villages in the Cotswolds, Foxcote developed as a farming settlement, shaped by sheep grazing and agriculture that supported the region’s historic wool trade. The cottages and buildings are built from traditional Cotswold stone and sit along narrow lanes that reflect the village’s long rural history.
