Dr. Sole x Sagara Made to Order Event

We finally finished all the orders of our collaboration with Sagara Bootmaker in Indonesia. All the results of this collaboration are made to order; that is, customers can build their own boots by selecting the boot style, leather combination from Sagara’s existing options, and choosing sole and heel to install from our sole collection. This MTO is a teamwork result between Indonesian shoemakers and Taiwanese cobblers. The uppers, lasting, and welting are done by the shoemakers of Sagara in Indonesia. Then the finished uppers with welt stitched were shipped to Dr. Sole’s workshop in Taipei, Taiwan. The rest is our job; we turned the uppers into finished boots by installing steel shanks, cork filler, and the sole/heel selected by the customers. They were scheduled to be done by May 2020. However, as the Covid-19 pandemic was getting worse worldwide, including Indonesia, all the schedules had to be postponed due to the limited availability of components and work-from-home policy. Finally, all the orders have been done by the end of October.
