This was the last of 3 flights after leaving Sydney on Christmas Day, with stops in Singapore and London Heathrow. Once I arrived at Terminal 5 (from Terminal 3 after the QF1 flight) I made my way straight to the British Airways lounge and managed to get a shower room straight away (lounge access courtesy of my frequent flyer status). Once freshened up, a good old English Breakfast was in order (minus the Black Pudding... sorry, but no thank you). The lounge was a lot quieter then normal, which is probably to be expected with little to no corporate travel being Christmas. After a few hours it was time to head to Gate A19 to board, which was completed well before departure time. After push back the aircraft was made to hold, as apparently a Loganair aircraft was disabled and blocking the Aberdeen runway. Once underway the flight was smooth, complimentary Water & Shortbreads were handed out, and after such a long day travelling I bit the bullet and paid for a coffee (Caramel Latte I think). Upon landing at Aberdeen, the disabled Loganair aircraft was visible on one of the taxiways surrounded by support vehicles and fire apparatus ( 19:50 ). Having done a similar flight in June I was familiar with the airport, but having the baggage collection area at the totally opposite end of the terminal does not make sense... anyways. Then straight out the front for some nice cold crisp Scottish air, and a quick ride in to the city on Stagecoach Bus 727.
