Sweden's Eurovision Song Contest entry for 2025 is a fan favorite, and Kaj's song Bara bada bastu has struck a chord with people all over Europe. But why has Sweden chosen to send a comedy song performed by a Finnish group? Let's dive into the history of Sweden in Eurovision! For more videos every week, subscribe to the channel: https://www.youtube.com/threestarvaga... Also, join the Three Star Vagabond Facebook group to discuss upcoming videos: / threestarvagabond Bara bada bastu is an unusual song. It's funny, it's catchy, and it doesn't take itself too seriously. Which is quite uncommon for a Swedish entry to the Eurovision Song Contest. In this video I explore some of the questions that people have had about the 2025 contest. Such as, why did this song become so popular in Sweden? And why is a Finnish band performing for Sweden? And, if they're from Finland, why are they singing in Sweden? Aside from that I'm also exploring the history of Sweden's Eurovision entries, and especially the winning songs. Because Sweden is actually the country that's won ESC the most times - seven times, a shared record with Ireland. So let's grab a glass of something sparkly while we talk about Sweden's past (and possibly future) glory days, with winners such as Loreen with Tattoo and Euphoria, Måns Zelmerlöw with Heroes, Charlotte Nilsson with Take Me to Your Heaven, Carola with Caught by a Storm Wind, Herreys with Diggiloo-diggiley, and of course ABBA with Waterloo. Cheers! And good luck to Kaj and Sweden in the ESC 2025 final.
