The calendar tells us that a new year begins on January 1st — but our bodies, our nervous systems, and nature itself often tell a very different story. In this video, I talk about how the “New Year” as we know it is a human-made construct, created long ago for political and practical reasons — not necessarily in harmony with natural cycles. Long before that, humans moved with the seasons. The year began when the light returned, around the spring equinox, when life slowly started to bloom again after winter’s rest. And yet, every January, many of us feel pressure to start, to push forward, to turn everything on — even when we still feel tired, inward, or unfinished. If you’re still in a hibernation phase… If you feel like you’re in a chrysalis… If you sense that something is forming, but not quite ready yet… There is nothing wrong with you. In this video, I share my own experience of learning to respect my inner timing — and why forcing a new cycle before we’re ready often leads to exhaustion, resistance, and burnout. There is no reward in rushing. When we give ourselves the time we truly need, things tend to flow more naturally, with more ease, clarity, and sustainability. I also want to acknowledge and honor those of you who are beginning to listen to your inner calendar — your body, your intuition, your connection to the Earth. This is wisdom. This is self-love.
