Helmshore and Haslingden Stations served the public for almost 120 years. They both opened on 17 August 1848 with Helmshore closing 5 December 1966 with Haslingden closing to passengers on 7 November 1960 and closing completely on 2 November 1964. Part of the spur still remains open with regular trips operated by the East Lancs Railway, link below, from Rawtenstall to Heywood. However much of the line is now overgrown or taken over by residential housing.
