Landæus Trio: Sketches of Sketches - Concert 1 of 2

In October 2020 we carried out a project we call ”Sketches of Sketches” in collaboration with Skissernas Museum - Museum of Artistic Process and Public Art , in Lund, Sweden. This is a unique art museum that features the world’s largest collection of sketches, models and preparatory work for Swedish and international public art. Guided by curators and personnel from the museum, we took a tour in their underground archives and looked at many pieces that are normally not on display. We eventually chose to focus on seven sculpture models as a starting point for writing musical sketches. We then presented our musical sketches in two concerts at the museum, with the art pieces at display. The sketch format is very inviting and once we started writing, the process took a life of its own and started nudging the trio in various directions.
