Yes and no. Most of the skin boosters are made from the active ingredient called hyaluronic acid and the dermal fillers that we generally use are also hyaluronic acid. So yes they are similar. But they are not the same because hyaluronic acid used in a skin booster is a very thin hyaluronic acid which is not interlinked as much as a dermal filler. A dermal filler is much thicker it has more viscosity and elasticity because it goes in deeper. But yes skin boosters and termal finners are used to rejuvenate the face give it a little more youthful appearance as well as help in the skin tone and texture. What is a skin booster in details? Now a skin booster is hyaluronic acid which is much lighter which is injected in the superficial layer of our skin to give us more hydration because you know hyaluronic acid absorbs a lot of water from its surrounding area and thus it helps in reducing the fine lines, wrinkles, gives a little more toned up appearance, gives it a more hydrated and shiny look which is why it's called the booster. This is injected in generally three different sessions. Mostly a month to or 6 weeks apart. The effect lasts for almost a year and if you keep applying hyaluronic acid continuously with your sun protection you will see the effect lasting much longer. For a dermal filler we use this to contour and volumize an aged skin, to reduce the sagging of the skin and give it an more youthful appearance. So this is generally used when there are lines when there are deep wrinkles like your laugh lines, your Marionette lines where the skin is sagging and you start noticing jowls. You notice that there is no sharper jawline. That's when we inject the dermal fillers to volumize and contour the face. These generally are injected in one or two sessions and it last for about 1 and 1 half years. Dermal fillers are far more intense more viscous and elastic which is why you need to understand what you're doing before you go in to do a filler but when you're looking at skin boosters you're just looking at rejuvenating the skin and giving it a more hydrated look this is the difference.
