가야금 독주곡 〈숲의 눈동자〉 가야금 독주곡 〈숲의 눈동자〉는 변화무쌍한 개구장이 도깨비의 모습을 그린 작품입니다. 이 이야기에 등장하는 도깨비는 철없는 어린아이처럼 예측불가하며, 요리조리 잘도 피하고 숨습니다. 때론 사람들을 놀래키고, 달라붙어 움직이지 못하게 하는 순간도 있습니다. 하지만 이 장난은 사람들을 해치기 위한 악의적인 의도가 아니라 천진한 장난에 가깝습니다. 사람들은 이 도깨비를 만나면 무서움보다는 성가시고 골치 아픈 존재로 느낍니다. 새벽에 출몰한 도깨비, 인간이 아닌 생명체의 등장은 스산하고 소름끼치며 을씨년스럽습니다. 마치 뒤에 귀신이 있거나, 주변에 벌레가 있을 때 등골이 오싹해지고 싸한 느낌이 드는 순간처럼 말입니다. 은근하게 파고드는 도깨비로 인해 마을은 혼비백산이 되고, 사람들은 처음 보는 생명체에 도망가기 바쁩니다. 그러나 쫓아가면 더 쫓아오듯, 도깨비는 사람들의 반응이 재미있어 더 쫓아갑니다. 술래잡기를 하던 도깨비가 잠시 호흡을 고르고, 사람들도 한숨 돌리는 순간까지의 이야기를 음악으로 표현한 곡입니다. 작곡 김희원 연주 김희원 Gayageum Solo Piece ‘The Eyes of the Forest’ portrays the ever-changing and mischievous spirit of a goblin. The goblin in this story is unpredictable, much like a playful child, skillfully dodging and hiding away from others. At times, it startles people or clings to them so they cannot move, yet its pranks are never meant to harm—only to amuse with innocent mischief. Those who encounter the goblin feel more troubled than frightened. Its sudden appearance at dawn—a non-human being emerging from the mist—creates an eerie and chilling atmosphere, as if a ghost were lurking behind or an unseen insect brushed past one’s skin. As the goblin quietly stirs the village into chaos, people scatter in panic at the sight of this unfamiliar creature. Yet the more they run, the more the goblin chases, delighted by their reactions. The piece captures the scene of this playful chase, ending with a moment when both the goblin and the villagers pause to catch their breath. Composed and Performed by Heewon Kim
