Stabicraft on the Sound - October 24th, 2020 This weeks update finds us flounder fishing and Dungeness Crabbing with gale wind warnings in Puget Sound! We headed out of Everett around 9:00 AM and came back in around 3:00 to try and get off the water before dark. With an hours time each way to ease the beating from the wind driven water we still managed five solid hours of fishing, crabbing, and relaxing. There's been a noticeable turn in the weather and this is the first trip out this season with the Big Buddy heater, which was very nice to have in the early morning hours, and my first fall trip wearing jeans and many layers. In the afternoon hours we couldn't find a sweet spot between between layer of outer wear due to the continuously changing wind speeds. I am starting to enjoy fishing by drifting, setting in a warm cabin area and watching the tip of the pole beats sitting out in the wind. The highlights of todays trip was probably the Bald Eagle that showed up to fish from above, and pulling in a starfish, both listed in the index below. Here's the index for todays update: 00:00 - Intro 00:52 - Second catch of the day. 04:06 - First pot pulls of the day. 08:40 - Third catch of the day. 09:50 - Bald Eagle over head. 10:28 - Winds picking up. 11:37 - Fourth catch of the day. 12:22 - Netting pot bouys. 12:43 - Starfish on! 18:23 - The days trail.
