But for good reason as it's a studio quality microphone that's been used the world over by musicians and professional recording artists. As you'll see though, it delivers incredible sound, especially when paired with the GoXLR Mini pre-amp. I've been using this setup for my recent video voice overs and for Twitch Streaming and it's been magnificent. GoXLR settings I used for the Shure mic: 65db gain -47 threshold/-34? 20 gate 25 compressor 35% attenuation (or 100%?) 10ms attack 200ms release 25 compressor -10 threshold/-20 4:! ratio 2ms attack 100ms release Highlights of the Shure SM7B include: Dynamic microphone with Cardioid polar pattern 50Hz-20kHz frequency response 150 ohms output impendace XLR connection It's a really tight pick up pattern which needs to be set close to your mouth to get the best results.
