Kathua rape case: SC issues directions to provide protection to victim's family and counsel

Kathua rape case: The Supreme Court on Monday issued directions to the authorities to provide protection to the family of the victim and the counsel, Deepika S Rajawat, of the victim. Rajawat said, "The Supreme Court has issued directions to the authorities to provide protection to us (victim family and their counsel)." The Supreme Court, earlier in the day, issued a notice to the Jammu and Kashmir state government and sought a reply on the plea filed by the victim's father. The victim's father had approached the Supreme Court seeking safety, security & transfer of the case outside of the state. The apex court heard the matter at 2 pm and issued the directions.
