Despite the false claim of Billy Mitchell that there wasn't any technology to help gamers explore advanced levels on Pac-Man such as the split-screen, there was indeed a rack advance function which could facilitate that very thing.  It could be initiated by turning on dip switch 7. If the switch is activated and a game started, the time it would take to reach the split-screen would be just over 17 minutes, as demonstrated by this video. So, NO... a gamer who had their own Pac-Man machine, like Billy Mitchell, would not have to play 5 hours to reach the split-screen each time they would like to practice, explore or try something new.  Such a claim, as was recently made during the NERG panel on July 8, 2023, is complete BS.
