Recently I did some work on a student's 2007 Fender Mexican Strat, the results of which are demonstrated here. I replaced the bridge pickup with a Jailhouse Rail humbucker from IronGear Pickups; it's a single coil-sized dual rail humbucker, so there was no need for alterations to the guitar. I've wired it to a push-push pot in place of the bridge and middle tone pot; as well as the standard tone function, activating the pot splits the pickup to a single coil. I've also replaced the neck tone pot with another push-push switch; this adds in the neck pickup regardless of the master pickup selector, giving you tones you can't get from the standard five-way configuration. It also still functions as a tone pot. Finally, I re-levelled, crowned, profiled and polished the frets, so wear and tear no longer affects playability. So here it is, put through its paces, with all ELEVEN tones being used. All amp tones were created in BIAS FX.
