Harran Alawameed PHC - A Bright Spot in Damascus Suburbs 🌟

UOSSM participated in a Ministry of Health workshop in Damascus, Syria, alongside the Health Minister, the Health Directorate of the Damascus Suburbs, and the Medical & Dentistry Associations of Damascus. The focus: the urgent need for quality primary healthcare in the Damascus suburbs, which is almost completely destroyed — and the incredible success of the Harran Alawameed PHC, the first UOSSM Primary Healthcare Center (PHC) in the area. 🔸Since the Harran Alawameed PHC opened, around 43,000 people returned to their homes confident that they would receive the high quality healthcare they need nearby, and would not have to travel at least 30 minutes to the nearest location in Damascus. 🔸The health director praised UOSSM for this center as a model of a high quality, comprehensive care center, that includes a lab and pharmacy, and provides services to its patients with the utmost dignity. 🔸Plans are already underway to expand to 5 more centers in the Damascus suburbs, with hopes to make Harran PHC a 24-hour facility. 🧡 Harran Alawameed PHC is more than a clinic — it’s a symbol of hope, helping families return home and rebuild their lives on one of the most devastated regions in Syria.
