Get a firsthand look at Hospital for Special Surgery’s neurology department, a team of neurologist, pulmonologists, occupational and physical therapists, pathologists, nurses, and other medical staff who are dedicate to caring for patients living with neuromuscular disease. The devotion of this team is undeniable as they speak about the importance of providing the best possible care to patients, meeting the specific needs of patients, and being a leader in neurological research to help future generations live with and overcome neuromuscular disease. Hear from Pat Quinn, an HSS patient with sporadic amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease) and one of the creators of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge; Patrick Beaton, an HSS patient with familial ALS who has multiple family members impacted by ALS; and Brett MacAdam, MD, an HSS patient whose life has been effected by inflammatory neuropathy. All three patients participate in clinical research trials at Hospital for Special Surgery.
