馬來亞大學高級講師孫先勇博士將會審視于一蘭於馬來西亞當代藝術框架中的定位──第一部份為1970年代的馬來西亞運動如何令人重新思考：在馬來西亞，甚麼才算「藝術」；第二部份介紹于一蘭的部份作品，看它們如何挑戰或協助我們理解非歐美藝術世界裡的「當代性」。研討會將以問答環節作結。 Dr Simon Soon, Senior Lecturer at the University of Malaya, situates the work of Yee I-Lann within the contemporary arts context of Malaysia. Soon will first introduce the art and cultural movement in 1970s Malaysia when cultural thinkers sought to reinterpret the definition of art. From this context, Soon will respond to specific works by Yee that challenge or contribute to our understanding of contemporaneity in non-Euromerican art worlds. The session will be concluded with a Q&A session.
