SHOES by Sisipho Mjanyelwa from Cradock High School. A student film from the 2016 Inter-School Short Film Competition and Festival in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. There were 18 short films were made with schools for the 2016 Competition. High School Learners write and pitch their stories as short film screenplays. The most promising scripts are selection to go into production as part of the competition. Writers of the selections screenplays get to direct their films with a crew of learners from their school filling roles of producer, camera, lighting, sound, art department, continuity, script superviser, etc. The student crews receive introductory training and support from a mentor film crew as they make their film. All actors are from the school, all scenes are created on the school premises, props sourced by the learners, scenes plotted and rehearsed by the learners, and the film is shot in a single day at the school.
