Nigeria’s Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged governors, ministers, and government agencies to pursue inclusive economic growth that directly improves the lives of Nigerians. Shettima made the call in Abuja while delivering the keynote address at the National Economic Council (NEC) Conference, a strategic retreat of governors and key stakeholders focused on strengthening national economic coordination and accelerating sustainable development. The Vice President stressed that government efforts would remain incomplete unless economic progress translates into dignity, opportunity, and hope for citizens across the country. Meanwhile, the Senate has approved the electronic transmission of election results to INEC’s IReV portal, while allowing manual collation as a backup where technology fails. The decision followed a reconsideration of a disputed clause in the Electoral Act Amendment Bill, though lawmakers stopped short of making real-time transmission mandatory. In a related development, the Court of Appeal in Abuja affirmed the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, ruling that the Senate acted within its constitutional powers. Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi joined protesters at the National Assembly Complex to oppose the Senate’s decision to remove real-time result transmission, warning that the move could undermine electoral transparency ahead of the 2027 general elections. 🔎 OTHER MAJOR HEADLINES: • NAFDAC uncovers massive fake drug warehouses in Lagos, seizing over 10 million doses of counterfeit and banned medicines • Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle reveals ambition to become the first African to manage Real Madrid • Wikki Tourists FC Technical Adviser Abdu Maikaba resigns, citing safety concerns and internal disunity • Nollywood actor Frederick Leonard petitions police over alleged defamation by Stanley Ontop • TikToker Peller reveals Funke Akindele supported him during prison ordeal, following his arrest over reckless driving allegations Stay informed with Megastar Magazine TV — your trusted source for breaking Nigerian news, politics, elections, security updates, sports, and entertainment. 👉 Like, Share, Subscribe & Turn on Notifications for daily credible updates. #Shettima #NationalEconomicCouncil #NigeriaEconomy #ElectoralActAmendment #ElectronicTransmission #INECIReV #PeterObi #2027Elections #NAFDAC #FakeDrugs #NigeriaNews #MegastarMagazineTV #RealMadrid #SuperEagles #NollywoodNews
