After your pool’s filtration system runs on high speed a minimum of 24 hours, our pro will return and do a filter service to clear any suspended plaster dust in your water. On the third and final visit, he’ll cover ongoing pool care with you, pool equipment operation, and set up a remote system if purchased with the pool. We strongly recommend that you obtain the services of a licensed pool service company to help you maintain your brand new pool. In the meantime, here are some dos and don’ts.. Here are some Do’s: Ideally, the Landscape Operation should be performed before plaster. However, if you need to proceed with landscaping after the plaster operation we recommend you wait approximately 3 weeks to allow the plaster some time to cure. Make sure there’s a proper perimeter drainage system in place so all surface and excess water is carried away from your pool area. Otherwise, your pool and decking could be affected. DO brush your pool and spa surfaces two to three times daily until the plaster dust has filtered out, which can take up to three weeks. Do vacuum the pool weekly. DO keep water balanced. Use a test kit to check your water’s pH level, chlorine level, total alkalinity and temperature. Levels will need to be adjusted for optimum balance as needed. During peak pool use like in the summer, the filter should run from 8-12 hours a day. For water temperatures above 80 degrees, operate the filtration system for at least 12 hours. For the first two weeks after your pool has been filled, the pool filtering cycle will be longer than usual. Now here are some Don’ts: DON’T adjust the filter control valve while the motor is running. DON’T allow the pool water level to fall below the bottom ¼ of the water line tile.
