A morning walk on a partly cloudy summer day in harbor town Sigacik, Izmir. The tour starts at the main gate of the Sigacik Castle and continues through the narrow streets of the castle. The tour also covers harbor, outer walls of the castle, and ends on yacht marina. —— Sığacık is a seaside neighborhood of Seferihisar ilçe (district) of İzmir Province, Turkey. It is at 38°11′N 26°47′E. Its distance to Seferihisar centrum is less than 5 kilometres (3.1 mi). It is situated on a small peninsula, facing north. The harbor is in the east side of and the beaches are in the west side. Its population is 3637 Sığacık is next to the ancient Ionian city of Teos. An Ottoman castle (now in ruins) built in 1522 is also in Sığacık. Up to 2009 Sığacık was a fishermen's village. Century. First settlement was established in the bay that was once the north harbour of the ancient city of leos. Sigacik Castle was built by Fleet Admiral Parlak Mustafa Pasha between 1521 and 1522 by the order of Suleiman the Magnificent as part of the preparations of the Rhodes Campaign. The structure consists of an outer castle and an inner castle, acting as a military ward where soldiers trained and spent their spare times.There are two bastions and two doors-on the inner castle facing the sea Stones of the ancient city of Teos were used in the construction.
