Exploring Northern NH's Lake Umbagog and doing a little Fishing besides

Thirty one years ago Karen and I and our two Labs, Jaz & Tuffy spent 3 Autumn days on a small island on Northern New Hampshire's Lake Umbagog. I have wanted to come back ever since but this is the first time I have returned to this, the most undeveloped Lake in all of NH. Why did I wait so long !?! Maybe because it's a 2 1/2 hour drive or maybe life just got in the way, I dont know but it sure won't be that long until I return again. After my last little Solo Island Kayaking Camping Adventure, I've got the urge to do more of that and decided to scout out this lake and some of the new remote "boat access only" camping sites. I cant think of a better place for another Kayak Camping Adventure for next Fall. I had never been to this end of the lake nor had I ever paddled this river (Bear Brook) which provides access to the northwest end of the lake so I had no idea what I was in for. What I got was one of the most spectacular mornings I can remember, witnessing the sun come up thru the fog on one of God's most beautiful gems. Let me just say this...
