St Mary's Church in Aldworth is a Grade I listed building, famed for its medieval effigies of the Aldworth Giants - nine 14th century niche tombs with carved monuments to members of the De La Beche family. It is highly unusual for a small parish church in the middle of nowhere to have something like these. The 12th century tower contains a really pleasant ring of three bells, and a Sanctus bell. The tenor weighs 9-1-22cwt and rings out Ab. The bells were last overhauled in 2011, but feel slightly neglected. Saying that however, they do sound really rather nice. The two trebles were cast in 1868 by Mears and Stainbank and the tenor was cast in 1793 by Robert and James Wells of Aldbourne. The Sanctus is the oldest bell in the tower and was cast in 1635 by Ellis I Knight.
