Fishing for 30 INCH SPLAKE in a TINY LAKE!

We drove two hours up north in search of monster trout, here's how it went! Splakes are a very rare species of trout, they are a mix of a Brook Trout and a Lake Trout which we call a Hybrid. They get stocked in various lakes around Canada but the very special thing about the lake in this video is the size of these Fish. Stocked Trout are fish that aren't supposed to get as big as naturally occurring Trout but the secret with this Lake is their habitat, for Bait they have all-you-can-eat freshwater shrimp stations in every water column of the lake. Freshwater shrimp are very rare to have as bait in little lakes as they consist of the highest dense protein and seafood for these Trout. They are also mass-produced which means there are billions and a constant supply of food for these fish, this allows these splakes to grow to their maximum size of 30+ inches, up to 20 pounds and it is something very special to see. The other crucial factor of these massive Trout is the depth of this Lake, most stocked Lakes consist of the water being 20-30 feet deep which they call pretty much a murky pond. In this case, this lake is spring-fed from up to 90 feet deep which gives these fish a vast area to swim from especially in the summer when the waters are warm. These Trout can go to the bottom, stay cold throughout the year and never have to be stressed out. This Lake is truly special and is one of my favourite Lakes to target these fish, in the fall time when they spawn, you can see massive splakes up shallow chasing around huge Females and it's quite the view to see, it is unbelievable.
