Hinckley When people see Bridger now, many will comment that he looks amazing, but then will almost always ask, “. . . but how is he emotionally?” My response is usually, “Miraculously well.” I don’t use that word “miraculously” lightly. Lately I’ve been very reflective on the last couple years, and can’t help but recognize all the wondrous people and events that fell into place to give Bridger, and us, the support we so desperately needed. Within days of Bridger’s injury, we realized our little hero would not be fighting alone. I am still humbled and overwhelmed by the love and support. I lament that I don’t have the time or words to formally recognize and express our love for every person that has supported our family’s journey. I do sincerely wish each of you could have been here with us those first few weeks and months as the letters and messages of support flowed in. Now, when I see Bridger smile totally unashamed of his scar, I think of each message of encouragement and support that shaped his mindset of self-worth. What a marvelous and miraculous thing is a little human kindness!
