This is roller coaster footage with a difference! Rutschebanen was a classic scenic railway coaster that operated with a brakeman at the Bakken amusement park in Denmark between 1932 and 2009, after which the trains were replaced so a brakeman wasn't needed. Back in 2004 the European Coaster Club visited the park (which is the oldest in the world) and we had a chance to do something unique (and something you wouldn't be able to do these days given modern health & safety regulations etc). The brakeman stopped the car at the top of the coaster and we all climbed out...we then watched full trains of riders enjoy this classic coaster with us standing on the top of the ride. After a while the brakeman stopped a couple of trains so we could all climb back in. It looks a little dangerous (it was!) and there was a lot of trust placed on us that we wouldn't do anything stupid! Even in laid-back Denmark it's unlikely you would be able to do this nowadays.
