King Stingray - Wollongong - August 16 2024

It’s been over two years since I last saw King Stingray so when they announced a regional tour with a local gig I thought the time had come to see them again. I also thought it was time to see them up close from the barrier even though I knew I’d be sacrificing sound quality. And sure enough the vocals on my video have been buried beneath the instruments, but the rendering of Lewis Stiles’ drumming is too deadly. They played a total of 14 songs, their three recently released singles, two songs from their upcoming second album, and most of the tracks from their first album. The band continues to mature both with their songwriting and live performance. The atmosphere at this gig was electric and it was wonderful being able to see all the interactions between band members. Without a doubt King Stingray are one of the very best live bands in Australia. Can't wait for the new album.
