It was my first time organising a trip with 13 peeps including my family and friends! We were nervous with the extremely cold weather in Northeast china as it was -1 to -20 degree celsius (I will share layering tips at the bottom!). The trip were absolutely amazing as the locals are very friendly and welcoming. To summarise my favourite place throughout the journey, first was Changbai Mountain 长白山，follow by 雪谷 (direct translate will be snow valley? HAHA!), 图们 (China and North Kore Border) and Harbin (哈尔滨） [MUST - GO PLACES] Changbai Mountain 长白山 ：Best explore with your happy feet! Every corner was gorgeous. Snow Valley? 雪谷 ：There's always a discussion between this 2 place call 雪谷 (snow valley) and 雪乡 (snow village? lmao). Snow village is too commercialised, and they will make you spend every single penny when you can actually experiences all the activities for free in snow valley. Snow valley is less crowded (almost no tourist). Highly recommend the stay called 盛世家园！ It's a family business and they make good local food with the best customer service. The owner even brought out karaoke system for us to sing and dance outside during the night. We paid for fireworks too (it's cheap). 图们 (China and North Korea Border) : From here, we get to see the North Korean's life with binocular (provided by tour guide) and learn some history and the connections between China and North Korea. [TRAVEL TIPS] : 1. Free Layover Accommodation We flew with Southern China from Malaysia, transit in Guangzhou, follow by Harbin. The amazing benefit with Southern China is they provide free "layover" accommodation. You can pre-book online or upon your arrival. There was a shuttle took us to the hotel (aroud 15 min away from the airport). Remember to look at the T&C. 2. Fashion Show Upper Body : 4 layers (Fast Drying Shirt - Uniqlo Heat Tech - Beautiful Sweater - Waterproof Jacket - I'm using uniqlo) Lower Body : 3 layers (Fast Drying Pant - Fleece Pants - Nice fashionable pants whatever you like as the outer layer). Feet : Fleece socks and waterproof fleece boots Others : Scarf, Hat, Gloves and Hand & Foot Heat pack. MUSTTTT : As some of the touch screen gloves are not "touch screen", my mum is smart enough and prepared a few digital pen (with rubber on top) with strings (to hang on neck). Swear that's the most helpful thing ever in this trip when my hands are freezing! 3. NO AIR BNB & APARTMENT, Please book a hotel (we've spent 3 hours to check in to an apartment on the first day).
