Jerusalem Artichokes grown in open ground has always been a problem in a small growing space so containing them is a priority. My original containment didn't work so I cut the bottom off a blue laundry basket which worked really well at the same time after trying one pot in 2017 decided to grow them in 10 inch pots in a separate area and had good results harvesting one pot at a time and seemed easier with less damage to the tubers after trying my first harvest in this video from the blue open container and after the video had finished I removed the rest of the tops I found lots of rotten tubers which has completely made my mind up to grow in pots and empty one at a time with little or no damage.
