You are the only person that can know how much of a relationship you can have with someone without it being more harm than good. When you have loved ones who vote against your interests and livelihood, it can be empowering to have a conversation with them. However, we must always look at the consequences. What are the consequences of being honest about how you feel or how their political beliefs have impacted you? Do you rely on this loved one financially? Do you have a support system outside of them? Sometimes, there are no easy choices, only hard ones.
