Sauti said, "O sages, listen carefully. I shall narrate the extraordinary union of Hari and Hara. To protect the gods, Lord Narayan once again appeared before all." Regaining consciousness, the gods and demons began searching for the maiden. Suddenly spotting Narayan, they exclaimed, "There he is!" and surrounded him. Narayan said, "I am Mohini, born of illusion. I cannot tolerate this chaos—why are you fighting?" Everyone, hearing Narayan's words, said, "O Lord, the root cause of this conflict between the gods and the demons is the nectar of immortality. It's fortunate that you are present among us. If you take charge, this dispute can be resolved. Please distribute the nectar for us and bring an end to this strife. Whatever decision you make, we shall accept it." Mohini (Narayan) said, "I don’t wish to get involved in this conflict. If you reject my decision later, you'll be angry." The gods and demons replied, "We will accept your every word as truth." Then Narayan said, "If that is true, I will bring the nectar and distribute it." Everyone sat down in two rows — the Asuras on one side and the Devas on the other. Mohini cast an illusion and enchanted everyone. Then she brought in the vessel of nectar (Sudhabhanda). Everyone sat ready on leaf-seats. Mohini lifted the vessel of nectar and began distribution, stating that the Devas would receive it first. The Asuras agreed. She then gave nectar to Indra and all the other Devas. Finally, when the vessel was empty, Mohini drank the remaining nectar herself. At that very moment, the Sun and Moon called out, "O Narayan, a demon named Rahu is drinking the nectar!" Hearing this, Narayan immediately ordered the use of the Sudarshan Chakra. With it, he split Rahu into two pieces. Though Rahu drank the nectar, he did not die—his head became Rahu and body became Ketu, both residing in the sky. When Narayan hid the nectar pot, the demons, enraged, attacked the gods. A fierce battle followed, but the gods, empowered by the nectar, won. Eventually, all returned to their abodes. Listening to this sacred tale grants spiritual merit.
